Dr. Ditty and his team are dedicated to ensuring that all his patients have the best possible surgical or non-surgical outcome. We recognize that many patients have experienced some constraints of the current healthcare system, such as increased wait times, shorter than desired appointments, or difficulty reaching someone who can answer your questions once you have left the office. We hope that by avoiding these constraints, we can provide a better opportunity for you to work with your doctor to achieve your health goals.
Your visit is incredibly important to us. We want to help you understand what your visit will involve so that you can plan your schedule accordingly. Your visit will include the following steps, some of which may not be required at each visit and will be indicated below.
You will show your identification and confirm that your insurance information is correct. You will make your co-pay, if applicable, at this time. If this is your first visit, you can reduce the total time of the check-in process by completing all of the requested information online. If you are unable to complete the forms online please allow an additional 45 to 60 minutes to complete the new patient registration process.
Some patients will require x-rays to evaluate spinal alignment or to assess fractures. Spinal x-rays typically take 5-10 minutes. (May not be necessary each visit).
Once you are seated in an examination room the Medical Assistant will take your vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, and respiratory rate) as well as confirm your height and weight. They will also review your medication list to make sure we have a correct list of the medications you take. They may also obtain some basic information about your medical history.
One of Dr. Ditty's Physician Assistants will thoroughly discuss your medical history and perform an appropriate physical and neurological evaluation. They may review your imaging with you at this time. They will answer any questions you have at this point in the visit.
Dr. Ditty will then perform a focused review of your history and physical examination and expand upon it as necessary. He will review your imaging with you and discuss important findings and make his recommendations for medications, therapy, injections, and/or surgery. He will then take time to answer any questions that you have about his recommendations.
You will return to the front desk to schedule any future appointments.
Dr. Ditty shares office space with other doctors. It is possible that there may be other patients going through these steps at the same time as you. Please prepare for there to be a short wait time between these steps. Most new patients or patients who are coming to discuss surgery should plan to spend 90 minutes in our office.
